31st December 2006 Windsurfing: Ynyslas Wind Direction: SSW Wind Stength: 25-45 knots Surf / Sea State: 3 foot messy surf Air Temperature: 10ºC Sea Temperature: 10ºC Weather: Squally showers Max Speed: Distance Covered: Started off with my 5m as the wind was dropping to around 20 knots at times as I was rigging, but once on the water it was clearly far too much. Had one run and a big jump where I just kind of hovered in the air for a while and then headed back for my 4m. Steve and Simon were out on the water by the time I re-rigged and looked to be struggling to control things with 4m sails. Sure enough I was overpowered with my 4m now as well, although there were a few holes in the wind which didn't help matters either. Still, had fun trying to cope with the conditions and did make it out the back and even made a few of my gybes. |
